Intersticial Space Marking Apparatus for Enhancing Spatial Perception

“Intersticial Space Marking Apparatus for Enhancing Spatial Perception” is a performance with a laser-enhanced transparent helmet. The helmet consists of acrylic glass and holds three pipes containing strong laserpointers with special lenses, which create a complete line of green laser light around the person wearing the helmet. The performer walks around slowly with the helmet, “scanning” surfaces of buildings, objects and people in the surrounding.
In darkness, the intersticial spaces of our three dimensional world become visible with this powerful green line of light. Outlines are marked, and the performer moves within space
with this light, which seemingly creates a slice of the space around. The performance aims at enhancing the performer’s, as well as the viewer’s perception of space.
